WELCOME TO SKYLINE

Life is busy.

Going to church can feel like just another thing to do.

But what if church could be more than just a place you go on Sunday?  And what if following Jesus is more than just showing up?  What if His love, grace, and power really do change everything?

Come and see.  In Jesus, you will find peace, community, hope, and purpose.

ONE CHURCH, TWO LOCATIONS

O’Fallon, IL 870 Milburn School Road

Bethalto, IL 820 S Prairie Street

9:15 AM and 11:00 AM Sunday services available at both campuses

THE MISSION

Engaging people.

Connecting to Christ.

Empowering to serve.

That’s why we exist.  Fundamentally, we think the church was never intended to simply gather together one day a week.  It should exist beyond the four walls of a church building because the church is so much more than that, it’s God moving through people, as they come together, to share and show His love for all of mankind.

MINISTRIES

Children

Our children’s program is available every Sunday during service for kids from birth through 5th grade.  It’s a safe, kid-friendly place with energetic songs and creative, interactive Bible lessons that will help kids experience God’s love in their lives!

Pre-register your kids

Teens

We want our teens to experience a positive yet challenging message in an environment that will shatter their view of the church as boring or irrelevant.  Students can get connected with others who care about their lives and their relationship with God.
O’FALLON: Sunday @ 6PM
BETHALTO: Sunday @ 6PM

Worship

God lives in the praises of His people, and it’s our desire to experience His presence through our worship and help people connect with Jesus in an authentic way. We strive for excellence in our music, vocal and dramatic presentations so that God is magnified in our worship.

Community Groups

People need community.  We think the most authentic form of community is a place where people learn together, grow together, serve together, and care for one another.  That’s what community groups are–they’re a place to come together with a small group of other members and connect.

Serving

The heartbeat of our church is all about serving others. Jesus modeled this for us in His own life when He said, “…I came not to be served, but to serve…” (Mark 10:45)

There are plenty of areas where people can serve, from greeting visitors or helping in Faith Factory, to playing in the worship band or assisting with audio/video production, just to name a few.

Missions

The mission of Skyline Church is to exist outside of our four walls. We believe that the church was never intended to simply gather together one day a week for worship. We gather to be refreshed and recharged so that we may be more effective in reaching our local community, our nation, and the world with the love of God.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
  • Visiting a church for the first time can be intimidating, so we like to personally help you through the process using our plan a visit form.  After you send your information, someone will be in touch with you shortly to guide you through your first visit.
  • Sometimes people aren’t sure what to wear.  At Skyline, most of the other attendees, volunteers, and staff are usually dressed casually.
  • We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before the service starts.
  • If you have children, you can check them in at the designated check-in area.
  • Donuts, coffee, and other complimentary refreshments will be available for you to enjoy.
  • Once you’re all set, you can have a seat anywhere in the sanctuary until service begins.
  • Service will last about 75 minutes.
  • We begin by praising God through music and song.  Sometimes it can get a little loud, depending on what you’re used to.
  • We will then continue to worship through our giving.  While you are welcome to give, this part of the service is for our regulars.
  • The campus pastor will share a message designed to encourage and challenge you in your faith journey.
  • Finally, we will join in a moment of prayer before the congregation is dismissed.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR MY KIDS?
  • Your kids will have a blast!  We have age-specific ministries for your kids while you are in worship. From babies to upper elementary, we have a secure area designated and staffed by kid-friendly leaders ready to spend time and share stories, crafts and activities.
  • Before service, make sure you visit our check-in area, where you will receive your child’s room assignment and a check-out ticket.  If you pre-register your kids we can simply check you in, otherwise, we will need to gather some information from you, but only the first time.
  • After the service, you may give your ticket to our volunteers, who will then bring your child to you. The safety of your children is a huge deal for us.
CAN I ATTEND IF I'M ______?
  • We can all fill in that blank with something.  It pains us to know that some people might feel like they won’t be accepted at church.
  • We believe that Jesus desires to reconcile all people with God (Matt 9:12-13).  There are no pre-conditions or exceptions, and so, everyone is welcome at Skyline Church.

OUR BELIEFS

About God

We believe there is only one true, living, and eternal God and that the Godhead is revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit (the Trinity).

  • Genesis 1:1, 26-27; 3:22
  • Psalm 90:2
  • Matthew 28:19
  • 1 Peter 1:2
  • 2 Corinthians 13:14

About the Bible

We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired and infallible Word of God, and they provide the only reliable guide of Christian faith and conduct.

  • 2 Timothy 1:13; 3:16
  • 2 Peter 1:20-21
  • Psalms 12:6; 119:105, 160
  • Proverbs 30:5

About Humanity

We believe that God created people in His own image to bring Him honor through obedience, and that when people disobeyed God, they became fallen and sinful creatures, unable to save themselves. (Infants, we believe are in the covenant of God’s grace and that all persons become accountable to God when they reach a state of moral responsibility.)

  • Genesis 1:27; 2:7
  • Psalms 8:3-6
  • Isaiah 53:6a
  • Romans 3:23
  • Isaiah 59:1-2

About Salvation

We believe that every person can experience a saving relationship (salvation involving regeneration, sanctification, justification, and redemption) through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Christ has provided for this relationship through His sinless life, death, resurrection, ascension, and intercession.

  • Romans 6:23
  • Ephesians 2:8-9
  • John 1:12, 14:6
  • Titus 3:5
  • Galatians 3:26
  • Romans 5:1

About the Christian Life

We believe that Christians should live faithfully by serving in and through the local church, praying diligently, witnessing earnestly, practicing tolerance, showing loving kindness, giving as God prospers, and conducting themselves in such a way as to bring glory to God.

  • 1 Chronicles 16:11
  • Matthew 6:1-13; 18:15-17; 28:18-20

  • 2 Corinthians 7:14; 9:6-7; 23:23
  • Acts 1:8
  • Galatians 5:22-23

About the Church

We believe that the Church Universal is the Body of Christ, the fellowship of all believers. We believe that a local church is a fellowship of Christians, a part of the body of Christ, and that it is imperative that every Christian be a member of a local church for worship, nurture, and service.

  • The Church Universal: Matthew 16:18; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 12:12-24, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23

  • Worship and service: 1 Corinthians 14:12; Hebrews 10:25; James 1:26-27
  • Nurture: Ephesians 4

About Ordinances

We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances instituted by Christ to be observed by Christians only. We practice baptism by immersion and believe participation in the Lord’s Supper should be open to all Christians.

  • Baptism: Matthew 3:13-15, 28:19; Acts 2:41, 8:12; Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21
